Avoid Being Misled by False Advertising The world of infomercials is flooding the media and because they appear as regular programing people are often misled to spend money on products that could be a health threat and are not approoved by the FDA. From products that help you lose lots of pounds to products that claim to regrow hair to aphrodisiacs. People are often lured into purchasing these products because of the costs and because they are endorsed by doctors. Just because a doctor or even a celebrity endorses a product does not mean it is legitamate. Bare in mind now that I am not naning any doctors because it is up to you to do the research once these people endorse these products. While you would think no well known doctor or scientist would put his or her reputation on the line, celebrities will often look at more income as a reason to endorse a product that they may not even use. Also there are lots of endorsements by the average person on the street. Whether you want to believe it or not people are paid to do this. I don't know how many spams I have gotten in my spam filter that I look at just out of curiosity that are asking me to take surveys for pay. You say you want proof. All you need do is look at your local and national news and reputable news magazine programming such as 60 minutes. These infomercials tell you of homeopathic durgs that have been, infact proven to be nothing more than placebos. They tell you of body detoxification products that claim to detoxify your body of toxins which infact could lead to serious illness. While there are herbs that do have medicinal powers one must be aware of herbs that can interact with drugs and also cause severe alergic reactions. If you are preganant or intend to become preganant you definately need to check with your doctor and/or health professional before trying any of these so called progams. That's just common sense. If you have thyroid problems, heart problems, arthritis, diabetes, lung problems, deseases of the blood, chronic bowel problems to name a few, it is a known fact that you should never try these so called miricle products without checking with your doctor and checking for FDA approval. I have checked out a lot of these products when some of them became available while browsing and have even bought some of them and they are not, that is to say the ones that I checked out, were not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). While some people may feel that the FDA is in cahoots with major drug manufactuers, it is a major regulatory agency and has saved countless numbers of lives by pulling a lot of dangerous drugs off the market. Even some herbal products are often released in high unsafe doses. Be safe, not sorry. Vote for and support representatives that are willing to monitor the FDA as it is not a perfect agency and write to your congressman or senitor and ask them to help pass bills that help protect the consumer from high price gouging, and corruption of insurance, doctors, and any agency that from time to time may become corrupt. Let me state that it is not always the fault of the agencies that may become corrupt. They do try to screen workers and applicants but no system is one hundred percent perfect and people do fall through the cracks. Being well informed, checking with your doctor and certified health professionals, and staying in touch with your local, state and federal representatives will help you to make informed decissions in taking care of your health and avoiding prolonged illness or even premature death.
